What would the world look like if you were legally blind – beyond the legal blindness threshold of vision no better than 20/200 corrected?

Often, it’s very difficult for a perfectly sighted individual to understand the difficulties of those who suffer from eye disease and who are either legally blind or suffer from some form of significant visual impairment.

I often tell people to take a pair of glasses, rub vaseline on the lenses and try walking, reading or attempting other similar tasks in that environment for an hour!  It is extremely frustrating and very difficult to even do so for an hour!

Before my transplant(s), my vision was so poor that it didn’t even fall within the ophthalmic scale. There was no prescription for contacts or glasses that could correct my vision.

With the help of http://www.eye-sim.com/ it can provide an example of what the world might look like for a currently visually impaired person.

If you know people who are visually impaired, you can use http://www.eye-sim.com/ to view the world through their eyes by inserting their prescription information.  However, (note) the accuracy of this website and others cannot possibly account for double images, distortions or other irregularities of individual sight.
